      Ageism in Media

Ageism in Media is ever present. Senator Liz Krueger is sponsoring a roundtable discussion on this important topic. Session II: How Older Adults are Portrayed in the Media Thursday, December 6th from 8:30 am - 10:30 am. Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, 331 East 70th Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenues. We are bombarded with negative images and stories about older adults. But that's not necessarily the real story. Hear from journalists who cover older people, and changed their minds about aging, and from an older person impacted by negative media, who works to fight the narrative. --Dori Block, journalist --John Leland, New York Times Metro reporter, author of "Happiness is a Choice You Make" --Sandra Robbins, Executive/Artistic Director, Shadow Box Theatre — RSVP for this event here…
