Background
LifeCare Malawi Foundation (LCF), founded in 2015, in Malawi, is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups, particularly those in rural communities. In order to do this, the foundation focuses on 5 core programs which are; Health (medical care), Humanitarian Aid, Education, Community Development and Elderly care. We are excited to share updates on our recent and ongoing activities.
Current Activities
Free Elderly Health Week

Our recent project, Elderly Care Outreach Week, provided one week of free healthcare services to all elderly members of our community. During this event, we offered:

-
Health examinations
-
Free medical treatments
-
Personal elderly care, including hygiene support and home-based services
-
Gifts in kind

This initiative helped over 100 elderly people, improving their quality of life through access to essential healthcare. The success of this program has inspired us to explore future elderly care projects to ensure long-term support for this vulnerable group.
Caregiver Training Program

We have also graduated our Caregiver Training Program, equipping individuals with skills in elderly and patient care. This program trained caregivers in emergency first aid, infection prevention, and elderly support, ensuring compassionate care across Malawi’s communities. It has empowered caregivers to enhance the overall well-being of the patients they serve.

Ongoing Projects
Operating Theatre

Our Operating Theatre project is making great strides. Once completed, it will serve as a vital resource for surgeries, wound care, and emergency medical procedures. This facility will not only benefit the Malawian community by providing lifesaving procedures but also act as a source of income for LifeCare Malawi Foundation.

Fundraising for an Ambulance and Long-Term Care Facility

We are actively fundraising for two critical needs:
1. A fully equipped ambulance to provide emergency services, patient transport, and hands-on training for healthcare students.

2. A long-term care facility to serve as a nursing home, offering a safe and caring environment for elderly individuals who need extended medical attention.
