(Help us by taking our 2026 planning survey!)
As we come to the close of a challenging and consequential year, I find myself reflecting with gratitude—and resolve—on what the Gray Panthers NYC community has accomplished together. Also, we want to hear from you! At the bottom of this email—please take a few minutes to share your reflections in the survey.
In a time when ageism continues to shape public policy, healthcare, housing, and employment, our work has never been more urgent. This year, Gray Panthers NYC continued to stand firm in our founding belief: that justice across the lifespan is not optional—it is essential.
Together, we amplified the voices of older adults through advocacy, education, and coalition-building. Our Transformation Tuesday webinar series reached broader audiences with conversations on age discrimination and legislative priorities. We deepened partnerships with organizations and activists who share our commitment to dignity, equity, and intergenerational solidarity. And we welcomed new members and emerging leaders who remind us that the fight against ageism belongs to all generations.
We are especially proud of the way Gray Panthers NYC continues to bring people together across age, background, and experience. In these divisive times, we insist on collaboration, and we see every day how powerful that approach can be.
None of this work happens without you. To our volunteers, donors, speakers, partners, and community members: thank you for showing up, speaking out, and sustaining this movement. Your engagement fuels our impact and keeps the Gray Panthers legacy not just alive, but evolving.
As I look ahead to the coming year, I see that there is yet much to be done—on caregiving, housing, economic security, and the persistent harms of ageism—but we are gearing up. Gray Panthers NYC will keep pushing for policies and practices that honor people at every stage of life.
Thank you for standing with us this year. Onward—together.
